Lyrqly respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. This page explains how copyright owners can report content they believe infringes their rights.
1. User responsibility
When you upload music, lyrics, images, or video to Lyrqly, you confirm that you own the rights to that content or have permission from the rights holder. Lyrqly is a creation tool — we do not review, endorse, or take responsibility for the content users create. That responsibility belongs to the person who uploaded it.
If you are not sure whether you have the right to use a song, do not upload it. Creating a lyric video for a song you do not own — even for personal use — may violate the copyright owner's rights.
Lyrqly does not licence music, lyrics, or artwork to you, and does not monitor or pre-screen uploads. Any sync, master, mechanical, performance, or publishing licence your video needs is your responsibility to obtain. Users indemnify Lyrqly for claims arising from their uploads, as set out in our Terms of Service.
1a. Service provider status
Lyrqly stores and processes material at the direction of its users and seeks the protections available to service providers under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512. We maintain the notice-and-takedown process and repeat-infringer policy described on this page, and we act expeditiously to remove or disable access to material upon receiving a valid notice.
2. Filing a copyright complaint
If you believe content created or shared through Lyrqly infringes your copyright, you can send us a takedown notice. Your notice must include:
- Your full name, email address, and physical mailing address.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed (song title, artist, link to the original if available).
- The URL or description of the infringing content on Lyrqly.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

3. What happens after we receive your notice
- We review the notice and, if it is valid and complete, remove or disable access to the infringing content.
- We notify the user who uploaded the content that we received a takedown request.
- If the user believes their content was removed by mistake, they may file a counter-notice (see below).
- We may cancel the account of users who repeatedly upload infringing content.
4. Counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error, you can file a counter-notice. Your counter-notice must include:
- Your full name, email address, and physical mailing address.
- The URL or description of the removed content.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification.
- Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Repeat infringers
In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have adopted and reasonably implement a repeat-infringer policy. Each valid takedown notice we act on is recorded as a strike against the uploading account. After a second strike we may suspend the account and restrict exporting. After a third strike we will terminate the account. We may also suspend or terminate an account immediately, without prior strikes, where the infringement is blatant, commercial in scale, or where a court or rights holder requires it. Terminated users may not open new accounts.
We may also remove or disable access to any content, and cancel any account, at our discretion where we reasonably believe copyright or other rights are being infringed. Removal does not entitle a user to a refund beyond what our Refund Policy provides.
6. Important note
Filing a false takedown notice can result in legal liability. Make sure you own the rights or are authorized to act before submitting a claim. If you are unsure, consider consulting a lawyer first.
